I may not be around this blog as often as I'd like but I'm praying for you all....those I know in the real world and those I know in cyber space. My friends, sisters. Be Blessed Today....be encouraged!

12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

 19Do not put out the Spirit's fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.

 23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

 25Brothers, pray for us. 26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. 27I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.

 28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Blessings,

Donna

         I received an up-date from an amazing group called Voice Of The Martyrs ......I felt it compelling and worthy enough to share...I feel so fortunate to live in  a Country where I can share my believes but I often am saddened for those that don't have that freedom or for those who choose a calling to share the Good News only to be martyred for their belief in Christ.

Request The Voice of the Martyrs newsletter today!

Yubis was filled with grief and didn't know where to turn. Just last year, Yubis' husband--a pastor--was brutally murdered as a martyr in Colombia for his faith and teachings of Jesus Christ. As a result, their two-year-old daughter was despondent--and she stopped speaking. She would only draw pictures with each one just saying one word ... "Daddy."

With the help of The Voice of the Martyrs, Yubis was able to receive practical assistance along with counseling for her daughter. Taking it a step further, she is now enrolled in Bible school. In a recent interview she told us ...

"I wanted vengeance on those who killed my husband--I know who they are. But God has shown me that the best vengeance would be for me to tell them about Jesus. So that is what I plan to do."

You may not hear stories like this on your local news, but you can learn the truth about Christian persecution as it is happening around the world. You can also learn to pray effectively and discover ways to get involved.

Don't let your brothers and sisters suffer in silence. Please request your FREE subscription to The Voice of the Martyrs award-winning newsletter today. Simply follow the link below to receive your free subscription.

Learning from the master

I gave my life to the Lord in 1992 and this Psalm always means so much to me! I grew up as a Christian or in a Christian home but never really grasped how loving, gentle and righteous the Lord was. I have been hurt in the past ( as we all have on some level) and at times want revenge. Not for me so much these days but for friends that I see struggling and hurting by outside forces or people. Then I remember this Psalm. The Lord is good and also a protective Father. He loves everyone but will discipline those that hurt His family. The beauty of it is even with those that He is angry with....will be given the opprotunity to surrender and come into His family. There is no one not good enough for His love. All though I do pray to be more like Him. I also take refuge that He is the ultimate judge not me. I can see the wrong and pray knowing that my Father has taken care of the bigger picture. Ultimately, this helps me with my co-dependent personality...haha to step aside and let God do the work. He does it much better; I then can learn from the master!

  • Psalm 92

A psalm. A song. For the Sabbath day.
 1 It is good to praise the LORD
       and make music to your name, O Most High,

 2 to proclaim your love in the morning
       and your faithfulness at night,

 3 to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
       and the melody of the harp.

 4 For you make me glad by your deeds, O LORD;
       I sing for joy at the works of your hands.

 5 How great are your works, O LORD,
       how profound your thoughts!

 6 The senseless man does not know,
       fools do not understand,

 7 that though the wicked spring up like grass
       and all evildoers flourish,
       they will be forever destroyed.

 8 But you, O LORD, are exalted forever.

 9 For surely your enemies, O LORD,
       surely your enemies will perish;
       all evildoers will be scattered.

 10 You have exalted my horn [a] like that of a wild ox;
       fine oils have been poured upon me.

 11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries;
       my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes.

 12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
       they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;

 13 planted in the house of the LORD,
       they will flourish in the courts of our God.

 14 They will still bear fruit in old age,
       they will stay fresh and green,

 15 proclaiming, "The LORD is upright;
       he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  James 1:5

    "Tell me the story again, Mommy!"  Our children love to hear their favorite stories retold.  Do we hold it against them?  Never.  We know there is something in them that benefits from the re-telling.
    "I don't understand what you're saying.  Can you explain it to me again?"  Are we impatient even in this?  Never.  We know that, for whatever reason, the wisdom we wish to impart hasn't found a solid place to land.  The ground isn't prepared enough to grasp the teaching.
    We were created in the image of God.  Our sterling parenting qualities, inherent because of God's design, are a mere shadow of what He is like.  He is infinitely patient and loves to instruct.  He is overjoyed because we cared enough to ask.  He will never belittle.  He will never make us feel inadequate for having posed the question.  Whereas some earthly teachers love to lord their knowledge over their students, God's glory is most secure.  He is humble, even though God.  He proved it in the person of Jesus who took on such humble means as to become a tutor/rabbi of men.  He prayed that some would love Him enough to sit at His feet and learn.  In that position, they would never be shamed, nor would they feel the sting of reproach.
    For all who are inquisitive, for all spiritual explorers, the universe is vast.  The mysteries of the kingdom are unlocked by the ones who come into the kingdom with the heart of a child.

Not everything is spelled out in scripture.  Simple rights and wrongs, yes.  How to navigate layered and complex situations, not always.  I open my mind to all of Your wisdom and say, "Teach me, Rabbi."  Amen

BELIEVE!

BELIEVE!

· Please share a time when your faith was challenged.

· Why does God allow our faith to be challenged?

· How is it possible to think that you 'believe' when in
reality you do not?

· How is a lack of faith an insult to God?

· How does the presence or lack of corporate (group) faith
affect a church?

· How can older believers be an example of faith?

DON'T BE LIKE ISRAEL

Numbers 14:11 - And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this
people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for
all the signs which I have shewed among them?

Deuteronomy 1:32 - Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your
God,

BELIEF IS PROFITABLE

2 Chronicles 20:20 - And they rose early in the morning, and went
forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth,
Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of
Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established;
believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

BELIEF NEGATES FEAR

Mark 5:36 - As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith
unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

John 14:1 - Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God,
believe also in me.

BELIEF MAKES THE IMPOSSIBLE POSSIBLE

Mark 9:23-24 - Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things
are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the
child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine
unbelief.

BELIEF IS NECESSARY FOR ANSWERED PRAYER

Mark 11:23-24 - For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say
unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things
which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray,
believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

BELIEF IS ESSENTIAL TO ETERNAL LIFE

John 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 3:36 - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and
he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of
God abideth on him. (Also see John 3:16 and John 5:24.)

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word,
and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall
not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

BELIEF REQUIRES UNITY

John 17:21 - That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me,
and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may
believe that thou hast sent me.

BELIEF REQUIRES TESTIMONY

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from
the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

BELIEF AWAKES IN RESPONSE TO THE PREACHING OF GOD'S WORD

Romans 10:14 - How then shall they call on him in whom they have not
believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not
heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

1 Corinthians 1:21 - For after that in the wisdom of God the world by
wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching
to save them that believe.

BELIEF IS A PRIVILEGE

Philippians 1:29 - For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ,
not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

BELIEF RESULTS IN THE SEEKING OF GOD

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please him: for
he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a
rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

BELIEF PRODUCES CONFIDENCE

2 Timothy 1:12 - For the which cause I also suffer these things:
nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and
am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto
him against that day.

BELIEF PRODUCES RIGHTEOUSNESS

Romans 4:3 - For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and
it was counted unto him for righteousness.

BELIEF PRODUCES THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

John 7:37-39 - In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus
stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and
drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of
his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of
the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the
Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet
glorified.)

BELIEF PRODUCES OBEDIENCE

John 8:31-32 - Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
